Armstrong and Ducane™ air conditioning systems include a range of features and benefits:

    • ComfortSync®: Sophisticated HVAC system operation and control with optional Comfort Sync® thermostat. With our ComfortSync® App you can access your air conditioning system from anywhere through your Apple or Android Smartphone.
    • Armstrong 4SCU20LX air conditioners are the 2021 ENERGY STAR Most Efficient central AC system.
    • Top Efficiency Armstrong Pro Series™ split air conditioning offer SEER efficiencies of 20.0.
    • True Variable-Capacity Cooling: Rather than running at one or even two speeds, the 20LX Inverter-Driven Scroll Compressor shifts its output in small, precise increments to adjust cooling capacities like a dimmer switch. So temperatures are held exactly where you want them no matter what.
  • System Efficiency: AC systems that are more than ten years old are a lot less efficient than even the most affordable air conditioning system we offer today, with common SEER ratings of 8.0 or less. Old condensers also likely utilize environmentally damaging R22 refrigerant. Current efficiency range:
    • Standard Efficiency Models: If you are replacing an existing split AC system, at a minimum you'll want to replace to outdoor unit and indoor coil. As a system replacement, the most affordable Armstrong or Ducane™ air conditioning systems would be 20 - 50% more efficient than a ten year old system with SEER ratings of 13.0 to 14.0.
    • Our most efficient Armstrong AC systems now offer a 20.0 SEER rating that will result in much lower operating costs than older or lower SEER rated units.
  • Staging: Split AC systems traditionally operate at their full rated capacity, and then cycle off when the thermostat is satisfied.
    • Better: In recent years, two stage air conditioning has become available. Of the majority of the cooling season, your system will operate at first stage, typically about 60% of its full rated capacity. This provides quieter operation, even temperatures, and much better humidity control.
    • Best: True Variable-Capacity Operation: The ultimate in efficiency, IAQ, and system comfort.
  • Thermostats and Controls: In the past, traditional furnace thermostats were single stage mercury based, and were on, or off only.
    • Better: 24 VAC Two stage electronic (mercury free) thermostat.
    • Smart Thermostats with or without Apple or Android Apps.
  • IAQ: Indoor Air Quality is increasingly important. More advanced filtration and sterilization, combined with longer, more efficient airflow will result in a healthier, more comfortable indoor environment, and much better humidity control. Click here for more detailed IAQ information.
